Set in north/west Washington with a high trestle bridge which has been built from 6mm & 12mm doweling this was built after the scenics of the valley had been finished apart from the trees.
The rock tunnel mouths were built from polystyrene sheet which has been snapped then layered up & then covered in a coat of coloured plaster with PVA glue mixed in.
Rolling stock is a mix of RTR & Kits.
Forks Trestle is part of the Cheshire Railway Modellers On30 Modular layout.
With the On30 layouts we have adopted a standard depth of four inches between track and table. This would allow low road or river bridges within the confines of the modules, or even just tracks running in embankments for evocative low angle photos.
The bigger trestle bridge Forks Trestle has a dropped section suspended between the tables.
For other standards – The four inch long inter-module bridge sections seem to work well with OO ones. The module sizes are between 3ftx1ft to 4ftx18inch. Electrical arrangements are identical to the OO modules, two wires to back up the fishplate connections. Back scenes are matter of personal choice.
