Betton Street – OO – Richard Hayden

Betton Street depicts a locomotive light servicing shed and Network Rail infrastructure maintenance depot located close to the English and Welsh borders. Based on the current railway scene, traction from several of today’s operators will be seen including locomotives the Network Rail infrastructure fleet.

The layout takes elements from the Network Rail Coleham delivery unit at Shrewsbury, located on Betton Street. The loco maintenance shed was built in 2008 to service the small fleet of class 97/3 locomotives that were modified to work maintenance trains on the Cambrian system after the introduction of ERTMS signalling on the route.

The depot buildings are also based on prototypes at the location.
