Albion Estates – 1/12 Scale – Bill Bateson

Albion Estates, a Lincolnshire Potato Railway
After the World War 1 , before the advent of reliable road transport, there were Potato railways all over Lincolnshire varying from tiny single lines to large networks such as Nocton. All were used to bring crops from the fields and to often link up with mainline railway stations. Albion is rare for two reasons, firstly it is 18inch gauge rather than the more common 2ft. Secondly it has survived into the nineteen fifties but is unlikely to last as far as the sixties.
The model is built to 1/12th scale and uses some dolls house accessories. All the locos and rolling stock are scratch built.
There are five cats, one lion and a dog for you to spot.
