Modern Image

Friarsgate is a layout built on two levels. The upper level consists of Friarsgate Station which is approached over two bridges. There are two platform faces which are served by Class 150 DMU’s. The station building is constructed from Grand Junction LNWR Panels and topped off by three Metcalfe Platform Canopy Kits.

The lower level  represents the end of a branchline where loco’s are able to run round the loaded and empty limestone wagons to and from the local quarry and a loco stabling & refuelling point. This is loosely based on Peak Forest Junction.

Motive power consists of Classes 08, 37, 60 & 66’s.

All the track on Friarsgate is Peco code 100 and is ballasted and weathered.
