Oliver Hill – HO – Liam Butler

Oliver Hill is a modern image switching layout set in Burlington, Vermont USA during fall. The modern-day Vermont Rail Systems sees its line run as far as Burlington, with a large yard serving several industries as well as interchange traffic from the North. Oliver Hill is the end of a small industrial spur to the East of the city, serving several industries along the route. The final 3 industries at the end of this spur are modelled here, these being a cement terminal (receiving dry bulk goods), a steel manufacturer (receiving several different cars including coil cars and box cars) and the Oliver Hill Transload Facility which sees a wide variety of traffic for unloading to be taken the “last mile” by Truck.
Small consists are bought up to be switched or run round for the return journey back to Burlington Yard. These are bought up by a variety of colourful motive power.
The layout is DCC powered, with locos being a variety of sound and non sound, and operated from the front.
This is my first American outline layout and my second layout ever built.
