Armathwaite is a model of a station on the Settle to Carlisle line. It is 10 miles South of Carlisle perched up on the fells above the village, castle and river.
The station still exists as a local commute stop but the tracks of the goods yard are long gone. The period chosen for the model is 1955 to 1963, when the goodsyard was still in use. Trains are mostly London Midland Region with the occasional LNER trains running through.
